Lady

I saw this one again while reorganizing a bit, and thought to share it again. Such a great piece, Lady Mastermind from Marvel’s X-Men series of titles. I have not seen much from Alan lately, but I have not been looking either.

I found his work through eBay after he started selling some awesomely detailed Batman ‘inner pages’. You can click [HERE] to download the Batman mini-comic and check it out for yourself. It is in .cbr format, but you can change the .cbr to .rar and unpack it if you wish to see the pages that way.

Great work, so glad I won this piece.

I just wanted to share a sampling of the artwork that is available for bidding right now on eBay. Some of the pieces are Usagi related, others are pages from other books or such that have been donated specifically to help raise funds for the Sakai family in their time of need.

The auction will have up to 40 pieces available per week, and go on for at least 10 weeks (300-400 pieces of art are expected to be sold for this cause).

Here are a few of the best from this weeks lot now available to the highest bidder:

Click on any image to go to eBay auction page for that piece.

And Silverwolf/Greater Mercury fans take note: there’s even a piece now at auction by Edge co-creator Gary Shipman!

It’s for a good cause; so bid early, bid often, eh?

Valkyrie by Rod San (original)

Valkyrie by Rod San

Some time ago I posted about a particular piece of art that ‘got away’, Valkyrie by Rod San. I thought my bid was high enough, but this one went for a bit more than this artist’s pieces usually went for.

It was upsetting, so much so that I took the time to write about it here on Moby’s. I even made my own lightboxed copy that hangs on the wall above my drafting table at home.

So…did I mention that I really liked the piece?

Anyway, imagine my surprise when I see that it was up for auction 7 weeks ago…ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Moby has indeed missed another shot at it. Why? Why?? Continue reading »
