Valkyrie by Rod San
Some time ago I posted about a particular piece of art that ‘got away’, Valkyrie by Rod San. I thought my bid was high enough, but this one went for a bit more than this artist’s pieces usually went for.
It was upsetting, so much so that I took the time to write about it here on Moby’s. I even made my own lightboxed copy that hangs on the wall above my drafting table at home.
So…did I mention that I really liked the piece?
Anyway, imagine my surprise when I see that it was up for auction 7 weeks ago…ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Moby has indeed missed another shot at it. Why? Why??
It sold on October 20th for $75 at the Women of Wonder Day Charity Auction. At least it was for a good cause. And at least the auction site had a better scan, which is nice.
Well, what good is having a comics blog if I can’t vent about this sort of thing now and again. If the new owner ever feels like parting with this, feel free to contact me.
