kcc2Reblogged from Geeksaresexy.net:

Chicago’s Commedia Beauregard Theatre has taken it upon themselves to release a karaoke-style rendition of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”…loosely translated into Klingon.

So what is this all about, you ask? You might not believe it, but…

The Commedia Beauregard Theatre has been in Chicago for 4 years, and does an annual production of Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol”…in Klingon. Yes, let that sink in, I’ve got a moment.

Here’s the ‘official blurb’:

“Scrooge has no honor, nor any courage. Can three ghosts help him to become the true warrior he ought to be in time to save Tiny Tim from a horrible fate? Performed in the Original Klingon with English Supertitles, and narrative analysis from The Vulcan Institute of Cultural Anthropology… The Dickens classic tale of ghosts and redemption adapted to reflect the Warrior Code of Honor and then translated into tlhIngan Hol  (That’s the Klingon Language).”

They also have an Indiegogo campaign going to raise funds to improve the quality of the production. New sets, costumes, prosthetics and such. There’s some of info on the group and the production on the Indiegogo page, for those who want to know more. I am guessing that the video above is to raise awareness or such.

Here are some other videos for you:

Thoughts on “A Klingon Christmas Carol”

Unbelievably, that did not ‘just happen’; it’s been happening for at least four years. Let’s hope for a few more, eh?
