One of the artists Moby keeps an eye out for, Juan2.0, is having a sketch sale for the month of May, and so of course I asked for a sketch of Grips.
I really liked this one immediately, and even more at second glance. I don’t know if he was familiar with the character, or just took the time to look into him; but this piece really captures the essence of Grips…he doesn’t avoid the fight, he wants it…to be as bloody as possible. That sure is one heck of a psychotic battle-lovin’ smile, eh? I love that little detail, it really makes the piece.

I have a few of these small commissions coming up in the next few weeks; I think it will be interesting to see different artists take on SW/GMC characters. Heck, maybe I should sit still for a couple hours and knock out a little something myself. Or not…could go either way.
