Boxes in Action is something that someone should have thought of long ago, a rather unique approach to storing your comic books. Why do we all keep our comic books in the same, boring white boxes? Why should they not look as cool as the books we keep in them?

I can’t believe I almost missed this one and that nobody has thought of this before. As you can see from the photos there is one design already done and ready to ship and another all set to go. The Kickstarter for this has only three days left, so there is still time.

It just seems like when your showing off the best of your collection it shouldn’t be from a box that is exactly the same as all the others. These would help to give those comics you want to show off a little bit of flair, and no more pulling out the wrong box to find the books your looking for.

Moby is a collector of some rather obscure comics like Silverwolf and Greater Mercury Comics. Something like this would be perfect for the collection, because the entire run of both companies should fit comfortably into one box. Then there are some signed comics, perhaps a few ‘specials’ or what not…again, why not have them in something as cool as these.

Or perhaps your like me, I usually keep a short box out on a shelf with the newest stuff I still need to get too…and this would look so much nicer to have around in the main room when company comes over.

Boxes in Action has a Facebook page as well, and seems they are giving away some T-Shirts and such to help get the word out. Things are not looking good for the Kickstarter on this, but I do hope that whether this one gets funded or not that it moves forward, this is a solid idea. Great Idea Christopher. Recommended.

Well, that did not take long. This post was up for about a minute when this was posted as an update to the project:

Boxes In Action is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable.

No need to check the servers — the rest of Kickstarter is doing just fine.

This project’s funding and the countdown to its deadline have been stopped. If the project becomes available again, the countdown will continue and the deadline will extend past the original deadline for as much time as the project was unavailable.”

I hope this project continues, I truly do. Perhaps we should expect to see Marvel and DC have these in stores themselves soon enough. I’m sure I can put all my digital comics into just one.

Yup, Marvel said no to the Iron Man box. The ‘Born to Avenge’ Box will still be available in April, I will post something when I hear about it. There have got to be a lot of smaller publishers and such who would love the exposure this could give. Right? From the man himself:

After a long conversation with the Marvel attorney Boxes in Action has agreed not to pursue the Feared or Respected box design as it too closely resembles Iron Man…

Never fear the Born to Avenge box will be available in April and we will be working hard on some other box designs soon.”

  1. Interested in the iron man boxes in action box.

    • HI Meme! Unfortunately, as stated above, “Marvel said no to the Iron Man box.” It actually killed the Kickstarter. There is still the Born to avenge box, as well as a new ‘Galactic Diner’ box that looks nice, and I believe a Tardis box as well. You should contact Boxes in Action, they have been really great to deal with and I am sure they can hook you up with some great stuff.
