KrakeJust wanted to share a couple more splash pages from the same series and artists from a couple of earlier posts. In case your not aware, splash pages refer to pages that are one panel, half-splashes are when half the page is one panel, etc. Splash pages are usually highly coveted and collectible, usually only second to published covers.

The first is another from IDW Comic’s GI JOE: Cobra Civil War series, a half-splash of one of Cobra’s newest members, Krake. Krake wants to be the next Cobra Commander pretty bad, and here he is about to lay some hurt on the Joes. Pencils by Javier Salteres and inks by Chris Ivy. Click here for the previous GI Joe post.

Neither is for sale at this time.

Comic art can be quite expensive, but those looking to get a page or two as a gift can usually find pages for reasonable prices, sometimes under $20. The price can vary according to a few factors, like the type of page (cover, splash, a simple dialog page, etc.) and also depending on which characters are on it, if it’s an action page or mostly dialog, and who the artists are and so on.

If you have any questions about comics or comic art in general, feel free to comment or email Moby, always looking to chat about comic book illustrations and stuff. But keep in mind I just collect for fun…Moby is not an expert or any such thing.
